                                     Vermic Injection

Only for veterinary Use

An injectable solution for killing

Both external and internal parasites

 Composition: Each ml Vermic injection contains-

Ivermectin BP…………….10mg.

Indication: Vermic Injection shows excellent efficacy for the treatment of following internal and external parasites.

Internal parasites:

  1. i) Gl nematodes of cattle, sheep, goat, swine, buffalo and camel –Haemonchus, mecistocirrus, ostertagia,trichostrongylus,strongloides,cooperia,nematodirus,oesophagostomum,toxocara,vitulorum,trichuris,chabertia,bunostomum,ascaris,hyostrongylus,metastrongylus,stephanurus,etc.
  2. ii) Nematodes, of lung: Dictyocaulus vivparus in cattle and deer.dictyocaulus filaria in sheep,

goat and wild ruminants’ prostostrongylus rufescens in sheep, dictyocaulus arnfield in horse.

iii) Gl nematodes of dog: Ancylostoma tricchuris toxcocara.

iv)Gl nematodes of horse:strongylus spp.Oxyuris equi,parascaris equorum Hebronema      spp.trichostrongylus axei,strongyloides etc.

 External parasites:

  1. i) Arthropod parasites:

In cattle: warble fly –Hypoderma bovis

Myiasis by screw worm fly-Crysomya bezzinana
Sucking lice-Linognathus, Haematopinus

Biting lice-Demalinia

Mites-Sarcoptes psoroptes, chorioptes, demodex

Tick-Boophilus ornithodorus.

In Horse: Gastrophillus spp.

In Swine: Lice-Haematopinus&mange mite-sarcoptes.

In sheep: nasal bot by oestrus ovis, Mites, Sarcoptes, chrioptes, demodex,

In dog: Mites-Demodex, Sarcoptes, Otodectes.

In cat: Mites-Notoedres

  1. ii) Nematodes:

In cattle: Humpsore causing nematodes-stephanofilaria assamensis infestation.

Mode of action: lvermectin interferes with parasites never transmission by being an agonist of gamma amino butyric acid and so it paralyzes the nematodes. Arachnids and insects

Dosage and administration: In ruminants: Subcutaneous route: 02mg/kg body weight i.e. 1 ml for 50 kg body weight (single injection)

N.B In case of Humpsore in cattle the dose may be repeated after 28 days.

In dogs: subcutaneous route:02 mg /kg body weight i.e.0.5ml for 25kg body weight mange a dog should be treated in this following  strategies:
